WRITER'S BLOCK

I feel like I'm on a one way street to nowhere.

Have you ever had writer's block?  I have it right now.  I'm overly tired, and this may have something to do with it.

I sit at the computer and end up reading emails, others blogs, and I accomplish nothing.  Help!

It has been this way most of the week.  Then I begin reading novels similar to what I write, and I read over what I've written.  I work on my creative writing course, and still nothing comes.

I read over my WIP and I freeze.  I have tons of notes, and I just can't seem to put the words on paper. They just don't come.

Maybe I just need to put it all down for a few days and take it easy, rest my mind from everything and everybody.

I've tried writing and doing the word exercises, but then I feel so tired.  I take walks, I meditate, and still NOTHING.

Maybe tomorrow will be a better day.  I'm going to read and go to bed.

If you have any suggestions, I sure could use some help on how to overcome this mind boggling mess I'm in.  Thanks.

Hugs to all. :)

Writers block is horrible. I'm in a block of my own right now. I'm working on a new WIP and trying to edit another and I think I'm just not focused enough to give each task the attention it needs.

This is what I've decided to do (it's helped in the past), I'm putting both projects on hold for a week. During that week I'm going to journal and do some free writing. And I'm going to read -- a lot. I have a couple of books I've wanted to read for a while, so I'm going to take the time and finally read them!

I hope you find something that will help you with your writer's block. If you find a magic cure be sure to share it with me! :)

Thanks for your thoughts. I spent the day in Barnes & Noble and read (lots).

I'm feeling a need to get my book done, and I need to get back into the story after being away for several months with the move.

I'm reading to do a review for someone tomorrow, and I put a lot of thought into what I am doing wrong. I'm fleeting from one activity to another and not focusing on one thing. I'm going to put blogging to once, maybe twice a week.

Writing daily, and reading at my leisure.

I'm trying to market book one while writing two and figuring out how to improve my blog. (Too many things stewing in the pot).

Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one.

Hugs,

Kathy
