WHAT A YEAR

This year started for me with the announcement of my first novel, The Veil. Then came a new grandson in February, and a move in June. It took a couple of months to settle in, and get back into the writing scene.

Then came Halloween and the beginning of the holiday season. What a year! I wouldn't trade it for anything, because it's my life.

There's only one shot at life so live the moment doing what you love most.

My interest is writing and has been since I was young.

Don't sit idly by wishing and hoping you had. Get up and get going. DO what you want to do the most and make the most of what you have to DO it with.

I would like to thank all of you who have befriended me, and offered great advice throughout the past couple of years. I've learned a great deal about writing, critiquing, editing, publishing, blogging, setting up websites, YouTube for Book Trailers, and now I'm learning how to make auditory books.

I've certainly come a long way since I started this journey of writing, and it would not have been possible without your blogs and tidbits of advice, and of course, the great instructional books. Thanks again, everyone.

To all of the new writers, my advice for 2013 is to never give up. If you fail, pick yourself up, get back on that chair, and start working harder. Read more, write more, learn more. Our minds are sponges, and if you want something bad enough, you'll find a way to do it. (A lesson from my mother).

I'm just enjoying the journey wherever it takes me. I only get to travel this way once, so I want to enjoy it.

May you all have the most wonderful holiday. More than anything, may you find peace throughout this season, something this world needs most. May peace be the one thing you are not lacking, and that's my gift wish for you.

What a great post, Kathy! Isn't it amazing what we can figure out (with a lot of help of course :D) That's great that you're making an audio book. You'll have to write a post about the experience! Happy Holidays!
