I was unsure of what to write when I first sat down. Then, it came to me like a flash in the dark, and trust me the flash didn't last long.
It's the unknown that scares most people into not making decisions to act and move forward. No one really knows what's around the next corner when making a decision to write a book, move across country, move to another country, change employment, invest in stock (that's real scary), have a baby (heck, have five). You get the point. But if you don't make the choice, then where are you? I see you standing there, just standing there, while life passes you by.
It's like the story of the talents in the scriptures. What do you want to do with the talents the Lord has blessed you with?
The unknown is an awesome endeavor to the adventurous; a nightmare to the planner; plain scary to the insecure.
If you try and fail, then try again. What awaits around that next corner could be the success we all are looking for. So, hey, the unknown isn't so scary after all. If you don't walk around that corner you will never know what the unknown has waiting for you.
Okay, since you've read this what are you going to do? Unsure? I know, go write that million book seller. You just might be the next Stephen King, Dean Koontz, J. K. Rowling, or Stephenie Meyer. Whatever, unless you try, you will never know will you? I love the unknown. That's the fun part of the journey.

Well, I've written a book, just have to get the courage to send it out for reviews. Gulp!
My Aunt used to work as a book editor years and years ago and told said it was ready. We were working on sending it out when she became ill and passed away. I lost my nerve when I lost her.
Writing the book was a true out of body experience.
Glad you stopped by, please come again and I've signed up as a follower!
Hugs~
I think travelling into the unknown is a big part of why we become writers...
NICE! Smile. That is one word our high school English teacher told us to never use, but it did not have the same wonderful connotation then it has now. Or in the more timely response of my mid twenties daughter... WORD! Well stated Kathy.
I must admit, I've become set enough in my ways that I enjoy the security of day-to-day routines, BUT I also love taking on new adventures. There are soooo many things I don't know and haven't experienced yet. Strangers are just friends we haven't made yet, and the unknown are simply things we haven't yet explored. Scary? Maybe, but not nearly as scary as the thought of letting life go by without aspiring to do anything at all.
Nice to meet ya. Just stopped by for a quick A-Z fly-by, but I'm leaving as your newest follower. Good luck with the rest of the challenge.
Great post - I love the unknown, so no fear here! Rounding the corner and discovering what's waiting for you is just the best feeling - even when it's totally unexpected!
So enjoyed this post. The unknown is where the Spirit of the Lord carries you through. Wishing you all the best in your writing and your life.
Thank you all for the lovely comments. I don't know where I was but I missed them last year. I'm looking forward to checking in with all of you as we venture through another year of A to Z Challenge 2013. The Unknown Awaits!
