L is for Lots and Little

Sometimes we write lots and lots
Sometimes we write a little
What does it matter to me or to you
If we write at all

My friend, my friend
Come sit a spell
And read the words of another
But don't be troubled if you
Finish it not
For the words are words forever

So whether you read a little
or whether you read a lot
I'm sorry to inform you now,
but really it matters not.

A little here, a lot there
to read and write
is all that matters.

More can be said for
the truth of it all
Is that we love
to write a lot, or is that a little

Really, what does it matter?

Thanks Betty for your comments. I know, huh, what an awesome moon. I would love to see that in person. The lucky people who take the pictures, right?

I enjoyed the poem...especially these lines:
My friend, my friend
Come sit a spell
And read the words of another

Simple and beautiful.

This a really lovely poem. I always give myself grief for not reading more, but as long as I get some reading and writing done. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and following it. I am very grateful.

Hello, Kathy! Nice poem about writing and perfect for National Poetry Month. I agree: the important thing is to write no matter if it's a lot or little!

Happy A to Z-ing! from Laura Marcella @ Wavy Lines

Your poem is full of powerful words and imagery. Read a little, write a little , read a lot... it only takes a few, here and there. One word leads to another and then another. Once the spark lights within, we want more. As writers we are hungry for words. I enjoyed your poem.
